Building the stand for the Focus on Imaging show 2006 at Birmingham NEC. We got there and found the walls and carpet were the wrong colour, and BT had knackered up the broadband connection - but eventually things started going right and we finished the day with dinner at Wing Wah, the Chinese all-you-can-eat restaurant near Coventry. Yum!

Final day at Focus, and very busy it was too - but that didn't stop us going up to the Nikon tower to take lots of photos using their uber-l33t cameras.

Busy day, but got ten minutes to get photos of other stands - and of course the obligatory annual photo with the Agfa girls.

Nicky was at the stand while Joel stayed at home with the kids.

With Fotopic exhibiting at Focus on Imaging 2005, we needed to set up the stand - problems started almost immediately when the stand had the wrong colour walls and carpet; then the network acted up for a bit, and it all got very very cold when the big doors were opened (hence the scarves). But it all got better when we went off for a curry.

Shush, it's a secret. What can be said is that it contained a large amount of ace limericks, rhymes, an an anagram.

The dinner rather inexplicably took place at Manchester United's 'Old Trafford' stadium. Whoever thought of taking a load of geeks to a football museum and stuff when we're in a town which has a great computing museum must have been nuts. We enjoyed ourselves though, dancing, drinking far too much (yay, pints!) and giggling at the 'entertainment' - a bloke who made Norman Wisdom look funny.

Pottering around the hotel and attending the plenaries, and making butter wormies at lunchtime.

Deee Three in the Marriott Renaissance Manchester, and after some hot working group action (including antispam and Nigel's giant presentation) we pottered over to the Loaf Bar for free drinks sponsored by Telecomplete. Finally, me, Alex and Gordon ran away to eat tapas at a rather nice wine bar, and back to the hotel bar for more beer. So, in short, lots of beer and lots of wine. Ouch.

An evening at Tiger Tiger in Manchester's Printworks, to celebrate 10 years of the London Internet Exchange. Live band, lots of free beer, a snake, and some belly dancers - and a large amount of drunk geeks.

Me and Matt went to the comics fair in North London, primarily for the Blakes7 DVD launch but we met lots of other people. I won a full signed cast photo o/ and we bought DVDs and signed pictures and things, and also got to chat to the B7 first-season cast, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn, Chris Barrie, Nicholas Courtney, and managed to avoid spending too much cash!

The final day at Focus, where we took a CD of images to the Kodak stand and Dave kindly printed them for us. Quiet day, actually - more the big corporates than SME's. And finally, tear-down and home to bed.

Another day, more Agfa girls, more people wandering around, and lots of wedding photographers! Oh, and Neal's new girlfriend on the MBNA stand...

The masses descend! We were rushed off our feet all day explaining Fotopic to people, then went off to the exhibitor's party where we drank free beer and ate lots of twiglets.

Woo and yay, we got to the NEC to set up our first ever Fotopic stand, at C50!

Me, Jon and Nat went and poked around one of the big camera shows in Birmingham for the day, to try and do some business work with Fotopic. An extremely productive day!

Battling our way back to the UK amidst the poor weather, and playing with Schipol airport's wavelan while we were at it.

Taking a boat trip, on a windy night, in the middle of Amsterdam. There's gotta be logic there somewhere - but still, the beer was free and Joel had funky trousers.
