Complete with an underlit disco dance floor and many Eurovision collages, we celebrated Andy Abraham's entry 'Even If' (although we knew we'd do badly thanks to the block voting). Marios came as Ireland, Nicky was an Azerbeijan angel, Ellie was Scooch, Ben was a pirate, I was Jahn Teigen (1978's Norway entry) and many guests turned up in outfits too including Icelandic cross-dressing! Absolute madness which went on until 4:30am and involved much dancing....

The dancefloor frames started to arrive, with the perspex and the LED modules so we tested refraction and dissipation of the light.

A few hours in Harry's Bar with Si and his mobile phone method for talking to the dancefloor, and after Maplin sending me the wrong amount of LEDs I've had to construct the LED modules piecemeal. Grr.

I figured it'd be a bit daft to build a full-size disco dance-floor if I hadn't even tried in miniature. Unfortunately I'd not got enough LEDs but this was enough to get the thing working and find out how to address it from the Arduino software. Success!

We'd got to go have a drink at Pitchers then had enough and went to Harry's to discuss the next stage of the DDF.

After the stupid idea in the pub, it seems we're onto construction. This is the first test cell to see how reflection and stuff works - it shows the Arduino board handling the three LEDs (R/G/B) and stuff. The video's more impressive tho.
