After the stupid idea in the pub, it seems we're onto construction. This is the first test cell to see how reflection and stuff works - it shows the Arduino board handling the three LEDs (R/G/B) and stuff. The video's more impressive tho.

A very hot morning where we went for a walk in Thornes Park, sat on a log and ate ice-creams from Lumbs.

We went shopping before Brian, Ruth, Dave and Grandma Rowbottom came round for tea - piles of meat and stuff.

The annual dinner for Wakefield Cathedral OCA, taking place at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield. Me and Si were the only ones of our era around save for Nicholas Whitaker (who blanked us - rough boys!). The after-dinner speaker was David Hope, former Bishop of Wakefield, Bishop of London and Archbishop of York - very good to see him after so long (both me and Si sang at his enthronement in the early 80s). After the dinner we went exploring a bit and went up to to the school museum where we found some caps and got a bit loud.

While working in my office at home, I was accosted by the kittens who proceeded to find comfortable places to sleep in the sunlight.

After a hard day's trying to get stuff working, we had a barbeque and then Joel burned stuff.

The former Leeds Housing Association offices seem to have been turned into a squat, and given the bailiff's notices on the front it won't be there much longer so I took the opportunity to get a few pics.

More BBC Micros in the garage, including a screen I'd not seen before on the 6502 Second-Processor version of Elite.

Another chapter in the Econet saga - this time using an SJ Research MDFS system to provide a fileserver appliance. I wired up the half-height rack, put the A4000 and A5000 machines in to support it, and wired the Econet across the garage to the desk. Hurrah!

The annual Acorn show at Wakefield. I seemed to be the only 8-bitter there this year, demonstrating the Domesday Project and some other interesting bits and bobs.

I'd not been to the Mermaid Restaurant in Morley for about 28 years, so took the family. Not a bad lunch, and then Col came round in the evening to cook spring rolls. Mmmm, spring rolls...

He got an iPhone, and excitedly unboxed it in the pub. Bless.

For some insane reason she just enjoys sticking her head in slippers - daft kitten.

Up to our arms in bleachfix, developer effluent, sludge, and other crap. Not a pleasant smell or a pleasant experience either. Features Nicky in a lab coat with latex gloves, so it's not all bad.

Singer/songwriter Antonio Lulic playing live at Harry's Bar in Wakefield. He was a little late due to train trouble so Ryan covered for him, but once Antonio arrived it was well worth the wait. Note: Lighting is pretty poor in Harry's so many of these are B&W and sometimes quite grainy - but I think that adds to it!

In between meetings I wandered up the banks of the Thames, saw a helicopter at Battersea Heliport, and watched workmen cleaning Nelson's Column. How exciting!

I was really far too early for the office to be open, so took the opportunity to walk down the Thames towpath and reflect a bit on life. I met a man who was feeding swans, and found out from another gentlemen that the floodline was about 2ft too high on the bridge abutment - then ended up in All Saints churchyard looking for the memorial to Erica (a colleague who'd been killed 7 years ago). Relaxing.

Ben and Ellie's first trip to a sushi place - Yo! in Leeds. They were both really good and enjoyed it a lot!

Principally a Marc Bolan/T-Rex tribute band but with other 70s hits performed well, I took along the 30D and photographed this band at O'Donoghues in Wakefield. Nice red feather boa there!

I wish I could tell you more about this beer-up, but I have very little memory of it. No idea of the names of the girls on the photos other than the redhead girl was called Georgia, another was called Jenny and the group were (mostly) from Melbourne... or why I took the time-lapse photos outside. All very random.
